Mini bags

There’s something so incredibly irresistible about small versions of our favorite things-for example, baby burgers and puppies, need we say more?-which is why it should come as no surprise that we’re currently crushing on petite purses.

No one really wants a murderous bag. So gradually, along with the economy, they began to deflate. Now they are minuscule and taking over the world. Or at least the bag world, much to the bag world’s surprise.

After years of gigantic HANDBAGS the pendulum is finally swinging back to the smaller side of things, as fashion houses started showing pint-sized options last fall, a trend that’s only gotten bigger this year. Phoebe Philo can be partially credited with starting the craze via the bags she created for Celine, which come in extra small styles like the Nano Shopper and the Micro Shopper, both of which are hugely popular with fashion insiders. In addition to Celine, we’re also quite enamored with the long-strap mini bags presented at the Valentino F/W 11 show.

Mini bags is the most comfortable thing world of fashion and that’s why women seem to be engaging with their bags in much the same way that tech-junkies engage with their smartphones; they might look frivolous, but function is a large part of the appeal.
